My Healthevet is a web-based application and product, providing veterans with information and tools to assist them in improving their health.
You must register online through the My Healthevet website in order to benefit from the many features it offers. You will have unlimited access to over 18 million pages of information relating to health. This wealth of information can be found in the website’s Health Education Library.
My Healthevet Benefits
Once you’ve registered and set up your personal health journal, there are many things you can accomplish that relate directly to your health. These include making a record of any over-the-counter medications you are on and any allergies you may have.
You can also record any medical events you've experienced and your full military health history. If you go for any tests relating to various health conditions, you can include these in your online health journal.
After you’ve made a comprehensive report regarding your health, you can print an ID card out with this personal information on it, which you can present to your healthcare professional or doctor.
The My Healthevet Community
Now that you know a bit more about what My Healthevet is, let's look at the community side of things and see how you can benefit from connecting with this side of things.
The My Healthevet Community is the online hub where you can find all different types of information about your local Veteran community. It keeps you in the loop about local events, as well as personal benefits and additional health information.
The VA benefits link that you'll find on the community page can help you connect with someone who will make sure you're getting any benefits you're entitled to. These can be both health and non-health related.
Under the News tab which you’ll find on the community page, you can stay tuned for any current news and updates from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
This covers changes to policies and benefits. Additionally, it also covers and keeps up with how veterans successfully transition back into civilian life, while providing you with guidance and advice at the same time.
Lastly, there is the option of subscribing to the bi-weekly My Healthevet newsletter, which will include any updates you need to know about regarding your health care.
My Healthevet’s Veterans Health Library
You’ve discovered the community side of My Healthevet, which can help you stay connected with other people in the community and benefit from the information and advice out there.

Simply click through from the homepage, and you’ll have unlimited informational resources at your fingertips. As well as an extensive encyclopedia and search engine where you can quickly look up what it is you’re looking for, you also have access to additional resources. These include multimedia if you prefer to watch something, and the mental health library.
Additionally, the Veterans Health Library also has ‘living with’ topics that cover various injuries and chronic health conditions you may be experiencing.
If you're looking to improve your current health condition, the Veterans library also has a ‘living well' section that can help you achieve your lifestyle and health goals.
You’ll also find a brief survey that you can complete if you want to give any feedback regarding the MHV.
All of their online resources are for your benefit. The more they know about what you need, the better they’ll be able to provide this.
My Healthevet Mental Health
Mental health is an essential part of our everyday functioning.
VA explains that mental health is how we feel, think and behave. Mental health is just as integral to our overall well-being as physical health.
That’s why My Healthevet places a particular emphasis on providing resources to help you deal with or manage any mental health issues you may be going through.
MHV believes that working on solutions for mental health issues is a sign of perseverance and strength. This website helps individuals and families identify and correctly deal with problems around mental health.
Under the mental health tab on the website, there is a link you can click on to check your mental health. They also have screening tools available so that you feel comfortable with your diagnosis.
If you've been experiencing issues around mental health for a while and aren't sure which direction to take, you can take a look at the tab called ‘considering professional help.'
Additionally, My Healthevet has fantastic resources including links to understanding PTSD treatment. They can suggest different options you may take after you've been deployed if you're not quite ready to settle down into civilian life.
My Healthevet Treatment Facilities
My Healthevet isn’t exclusively confined to being online. They also have additional resources out there in the community, including treatment facilities that have physical locations for your benefit.
To access the locations of these treatment facilities, you need to have a registered, online account with MHV. Once you've signed up successfully, you can quickly locate your nearest treatment facility and find out about what medical assistance they offer.
It’s recommended that you set up your personal account and include your medical history in these records before you approach a treatment facility. We’ll talk more about how to set up an account with MHV later. First, let’s look at the different types of medical information you can keep track of.
My Healthevet lets you record your personal and family health summary, as far back as you would like to go. Additionally, in a separate section, you can type out your military health summary.
Medical events shouldn’t go unrecorded or reported. That’s why My Healthevet also has an area where you can keep track of any medical events you may have had, whether they were in the recent past or years ago.
My Healthevet Benefits
We’ve talked briefly about the benefits of being a part of the My Healthevet online community. Let’s look at that a little more in-depth.
At MHV, you'll have access to a facility called the Health Care Center for Dependents. This facility has the ability to provide medical assistance to dependents who are eligible. You can quickly check your eligibility for this resource online through your MHV account.
The Veterans Association also has a wealth of rehabilitation resources through My Healthevet that can be accessed by anyone who needs them. This particular benefit is due to their mission to help provide veterans with the resources they need to live a fulfilling life.
There is a broad spectrum of rehabilitation services. Check to see which ones could benefit you the most.
If you have a specific illness or chronic condition that requires special treatment, My Healthevet can help with this as well. MHV sponsors programs that work hard to increase the quantity and quality of health care for veterans living with certain medical conditions.
Through the Specific Illness link on the website, you can find out more information about these programs and how they can fit in with your personal condition.
My Healthevet Pharmacy
My Healthevet’s online pharmacy is a fantastic resource. It allows you to sync up your account and medical records with their various medications, making it easy and straightforward for you to order prescription medicine and apply for refills.
MHV’s online pharmacy has a refill feature that allows members who are registered VA patients to refill any VA prescriptions they may have online.
Because of your recorded medical history, you can also easily access a list of your past ordered prescriptions. Remember that to be eligible for this feature, you need to have a prescription written out by a VA doctor associated with a VA pharmacy.
Once you’ve completed your online prescription order, you can use their tracking feature to keep track of your order and get a good idea of when it will be delivered.
Additionally, if you don’t want to log in every time you need to see your tracking information, you can opt for an email notification that will inform you of when your package will be arriving, and how far away it is at various stages.
To make the most of all of these features, you must have a premium My Healthevet account.
